Montgras Quatro 2008
MontGras Quatro: A Singular Chilean Blend
The MontGras Quatro represents a winemaking revolution for Chile, effectively altering the traditional concept of producing single varietal wines in favor of wines with more complexity and structure.
With Quatro, MontGras presents in one red wine a unique taste sensation, a blend of four grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère and Malbec.
Label design plays a significant role in the packaging of this wine, with each grape variety proportionally represented with a distinctive colour.
Each vintage year you will can rediscover and experience a new MontGras Quatro.
Terra Andina Carmenere
Color: Dark and deep red.
Complex with grilled red pepper, raspberry and blackberry fruit,
dried plums mingled with tobacco and mocha. Velvety texture with
soft and voluptuous tannins in a nicely integrated finish.
Montes Merlot
The grapes for this wine are from Colchagua valley, some of them coming from our Marchigue estate. 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine goes through a oak ageing of six months in new and used American oak barrels. A young Merlot with some oak ageing. Elegant, refined and a marked fruitiness almost irresistible to Merlot lovers and to those who sample it for the first time. Strong, spicy black pepper, full of harmony and soft to the palate. Aurelio decided to blend 15% Cabernet Sauvignon with this Merlot, to better marry with the oak, and give structure and finesse that will also permit long term ageing. D.O. Colchagua Valley.
Montes Malbec
This wine reveals powerful but elegant flavors, with plummy and blackberry hints. A wonderful butterscotch and spicy notes are
