2007 Big Guy Red blend

Posted on Monday, November 15, 2010 in California Red, Domestic Red, Red, Wine

big-guy-redThe 2007 Big Guy blend is strongly influenced by Syrah from the Canterbury Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. This

vineyard yields grapes with ripe, luscious, sunny fruit flavors and a delicious mouthfeel. Cabernet sauvignon and

other Bordeaux varietals are blended with the Syrah to create a wine with lively fruit aromas, rich, ripe fruit flavors

on the palate and soft, supple tannins on the persistent finish. The

addition of Syrah makes this wine approachable at an earlier age,

while still having a structure that will allow the wine to develop for

several years. A medium-bodied wine, with rich, complex flavors

of fruit and toasty oak integrated with supple tannins, this delicious

wine is a delightful accompaniment to any occasion.

Technical Analysis

Varietal: Syrah (53%), Cabernet sauvignon (36%)

Petit Verdot (8%), Merlot (2%), Malbec (1%)

The Other Red

One is immediately struck by the vibrant color of this wine. The aromas of blackberries and plums are complemented by spice, toasty oak and cedar notes. Upon washing this liquid across the palate, a wave of sweet black cherries and boysenberries, with a hint of smoky, dark oak lead to a long, totally seductive, finish.  A great expression of this variety, this wine will gently knock your socks off.  ‘The Other’ is a perfect accompaniment to a variety of cuisine.pe-other_r_label_sm
