The nose had cherry and raspberry, espresso and spice, and some earth at the end. The palate was smooth, with lots of acidity. It had mocha and currant, cherry and raspberry, and a lot of herbaceous spice on the finish.

Dusty approachable tannins, blackberry, cassis, tobacco. Elegant, smooth, moderately long clean finish with a hint of pepper.  Easy drinking.

Fragrant, deep, dark red, well ripened fruit: black cherry, blackberry and currant. The finish of vanilla and subtle toast lasts nice and long. This wine is unfined and minimally filtered.

The 2007 vintage is typical of our Zinfandel from this vineyard with a deep red/purple color and vibrant black cherry fruit. The wine displays a firm tannic structure giving it excellent aging potential.  The wine finishes with a lovely hint of white pepper spice and toasty oak.

The 337 clone is an early ripening grape with small berry clusters that deliver a bold, but luscious wine with spice and blackberry. The 337 clone is renowned for lacking the herbal and veggie characteristics that can detract from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape.

Coupled with a deep ruby-purple color, the aroma has a very distinctive component that is layered with hints of blueberries and oak. With lots of dark berry fruit, the palate has a richness and density that is supported by mouth coating soft tannins and a milk chocolate oak finish.

Stinger is a blend of two separate clones from two different sides of “The Knoll” Vineyard on the Margarita Ranch in the very southern end of Paso Robles, where it is cooler.  The wine is very deep in color, with bright magenta to the rim.  The aroma jumps out with African violets, pomegranates and cinnamon.  The flavor is rich, dense and fresh with vibrant flavors of red plum, pomegranates and five-spice powder.  This is a wine with real flavor that hasn’t been blended away.

Aroma: Red berries and violets. Flavor: Succulent raspberry with a hint of menthol finishing with wild berries.  Body & Color: Light-medium bodied and dark red in color.   Cooperage: 40% new French Oak barrels for 22 months.

Medium garnet in color and aromas of Cherry, Strawberry and Raspberry are accompanied by a bouquet of Vanilla and Cocoa. Round and soft in the mouth, with bright red berry flavors, the fruit and oak are well balanced in the finish.

The Adobe Red is a proprietary blend with ripe flavors of cherry, plum and vanilla bean, with rich spicy blueberry and cherry notes. The tannins are supple, and the balanced oak character adds additional vanilla notes.

Black fruit, clove, allspice and vanilla in the nose. Youthful and intense with white pepper, red cherry and soft mineral overtones that carry through the mouth into a long finish. This full-bodied wine has long, ripe tannins with good structure and is excellently balanced. It should age well for the next 10-12 years.

The Lodi District is known for growing California’s best Zinfandel. THE ZIN is not only 100% Zinfandel, but all 100% Lodi of which 80% is from Old Vines. The wine is aged for 9 months, primarily in American and European oak, with some French oak barrels. The wine is unfined. Exotically rich, it is black fruit oriented with notes of black cherry, currants and blackberry spiced with black pepper.

This Cabernet has a big cherry nose with spice and a hint of chocolate. On the palate the cherry fruit is followed by soft tannins and a sweet oak finish.   Raider wine works will contribute 5% of it’s revenues from the sale of this wine to Texas educational Institutions.

A “Pinophile’s” wish list; essence of sweet ripe berries, plump red fruits that are spicy in aroma and flavor with velvet mouth-filling tannin for length.

This is a smoky, spicy Merlot. It is nice and soft with dried cherry, cranberry, crushed sage and cocoa dimensions. It is well-balanced with nicely integrated oak, and has a lingering finish.

The 2005 Altamura Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon extremely concentrated, rich and polished with a complex core of black fruit. The deep hues of black cherry are a precursor to the flavors of blackcurrant, coffee, licorice, cocoa and cedar. The soft and well integrated tannins carry and hold these textures and flavors into a long and lingering finish.

Produced only in select years, the Winemaker’s Handprint is what all Merlots strive to be. It has deep, dark color, and its full-blown cherry nose is surrounded by toasty French oak. On the palate you’ll find sweet fruit of cherry and plum, with hints of leather, cola and vanilla. And the lingering finish hangs on like a jumper who’s changed his mind. This wine will pair with anything from seared ahi tuna to lamb, duck or your favorite pork tenderloin recipe.
